POST-GAME NOTES

*With its 88-66 victory over Florida State, Pitt won the First Commonwealth Colonial Athletic Association Basketball Classic title. First Commonwealth and tournament organizers presented the Panthers a title trophy following the contest. Last weekend, Pitt defeated Northeastern (78-52), Massachusetts (85-68) and Oakland (66-55) en route to the championship.

*Pitt is off to its fifth consecutive 6-0 start to a season dating back to the 2002-03 campaign.

*Tyrell Biggs matched his career-high in points for the third time this season with 11 points. He also scored 11 points vs. Massachusetts and Western Michigan. Biggs also tied career-highs for field goals made (5).

*Mike Cook led Pitt with a season-high nine assists. It tied for the highest assist total for a Pitt player this season (Levance Fields had nine assists vs. Western Michigan on Nov. 12, 2006). While playing for East Carolina, Cook finished with 12 assists vs. Belmont-Abbey on November 28, 2004.

*Pitt finished with 28 assists on 35 field goals made (80 percent). The school record for assists remains 34 vs. Cleveland State on February 14, 1974.

*With his 10 points, Sam Young reached double figure scoring for the second time this season.

*Freshman Gilbert Brown saw action in his first game this season.

*Pitt threatened its game field goal percentage record. It shot 67.9 percent (19-28) in the first half and finished with a 62.5 percent (35-56) clip. The school record is 67.4 percent vs. Kent State in last year's NCAA Tournament First Round.

*The win improves Pitt to 69-6 all-time in the Petersen Events Center and 42-1 vs. non-conference opponents in the five-year old arena.

*Pitt has won 63 of its last 64 home games against regular season non-conference opponents.

*Pitt won its 17^th consecutive non-conference game dating back to the 2004-05 season. It finished 11-0 vs. non-conference opponents last season and is 6-0 this year.

*Pitt improved to 8-1 all-time vs. Florida State. It has won five consecutive games vs. the Seminoles dating back to March 18, 1984.

*Pitt's 22-point victory tied for its largest victory margin over the Seminoles in the nine-game series. Pitt also defeated FSU 82-60 on December 8, 1973.

*Pitt improved to 62-3 vs. non-conference opponents over the last six seasons.

*Aaron Gray finished with nine points and five rebounds in only 25 minutes. It was the first time he did not reach double figures this season.
