POST-GAME NOTES
*Pitt played its second First Commonwealth Colonial Athletic Association Basketball Classic contest, defeating UMass 85-68. The Panthers are 2-0 in Classic play and take on
*Tyrell Biggs set or tied career-highs for points (11), rebounds (8), field goals made (5), field goal attempts (7) and minutes (24). It was the second time he reached double figure scoring this season as he finished with 11 points on 5-5 shooting vs.
*Levance Fields reached double figures in scoring for the first time this season. It marked the 12th double figure scoring game of his career.
*After just four games, Pitt has now had nine different players reach double figures on the season. The rundown: Aaron Gray (four times), Antonio Graves (three times), Mike Cook (three times), Tyrell Biggs (two times), Ronald Ramon (once), Keith Benjamin (once), Sam Young (once), Levon Kendall (once) and Levance Fields (once).
*The win improves Pitt to 67-6 all-time in the
*Pitt has won 61 of its last 62 home games against regular season non-conference opponents.
*Pitt won its 15th consecutive non-conference game dating back to the 2004-05 season. It finished 11-0 vs. non-conference opponents last year.
*Pitt improved to 10-4 all-time against UMass. The Panthers also improved to 123-77 all-time vs. Atlantic-10 Conference schools.
*Pitt improved to 60-3 vs. non-conference opponents over the last six seasons.
*Pitt finished with assists on 23 of its 31 field goals. For the season, Pitt has assisted on 72.7 percent of its field goals (88-121).
*For the fourth consecutive game, Pitt hit at least 50 percent of its field goal attempts. The Panthers finished with 50.0 percent shooting (31-62).
