ORLANDO, Fla. - • Pitt's victory over UCF moves the Panthers to 6-1 on the year for the first time since 1982, when Dan Marino led the team to a 7-0 start.
• Pitt now holds a 1-0 record vs. UCF and Pitt Head Coach Dave Wannstedt improves to 11-7 in his career.
• Lowell Robinson's 97-yard opening kickoff return for a touchdown is the first since LaRod Stephens-Howling returned an opening kickoff 95 yards vs. Ohio on Sept. 9, 2005.
• Robinson's touchdown is the first of his career and Pitt's first kickoff return for a TD this season.
• LB Tommie Campbell's 61-yard interception return in the first quarter was the first of his career.
• TE Nate Byham picked up his first career reception from Tyler Palko in the first quarter, an 11-yard gain.
• LaRod Stephens-Howling scored rushing touchdowns of 23 and 26 yards in the first quarter, giving him his first career multiple-rushing touchdown game.
• Tyler Palko's 54-yard touchdown pass to Oderick Turner in the second quarter marks the sixth Pitt TD pass of the season of more than 50 yards.
• H.B. Blades' forced fumble and fumble recovery in the second quarter is the first forced fumble of the season for Blades and his second recovery.
• Sam Bryant's sack on UCF quarterback Kyle Israel in the second quarter was the first of his career.
• Condredge Collins' 11-yard touchdown reception late in the second quarter gave Pitt a 38-0 leading heading into the lockerroom. The 38 points is the most scored by a Pitt team in the first half since a 38-3 lead vs. Rutgers on Oct. 23, 2004. Pitt went on to win that game 41-17.
• The 38-point lead is also the largest halftime lead for Pitt since leading Rutgers 42-0 at the half on Nov. 10, 2001. Pitt won the game 42-0.
• Vernon Botts' fumble recovery in the second quarter was the first of his career.
• H.B. Blades' sack in the second quarter was his first of the season and fourth of his career.
• LaRod Stephens-Howling's 6-yard touchdown early in the third quarter gave him three rushing TDs for the game, becoming the first Pitt player since Brandon Miree vs. Ball State on Sept. 13, 2003 to rush for three in a single game.
• Tyler Palko finished the game completing 11-of-15 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns. He has now thrown 82 consecutive passes without an interception, dating back to the Michigan State game on Sept. 16.
• QB Bill Stull threw the first touchdown pass of his career on a 29-yard pass to Marcel Pestano in the fourth quarter.
