Caesar Lopez also scored for the Huskies, tallying his first career goal in his fourth appearance of the season. Ryan Cordeiro tallied two assists, while Willis Forko added another.
Panther goalkeeper Jordan Marks thwarted many scoring attempts, the most impressive of which featured a sliding stop with the top of his right foot. The Huskies regained possession a minute later, but Marks stopped the shot from Chukwudi Chijindu to keep the game at 0-0 heading into the half.
UConn came out strong in the second stanza and White was able to find the back of the net in the 53rd minute of play to put the Huskies on top. Cordeiro crossed the ball to the right side of the box where White was waiting to send a quick shot into the right side of the net, well out of the reach of a diving Marks. The freshman forward struck again just five minutes later when Cordeiro once again crossed the ball to the far post. This time, Forko received the ball and headed it over to White, who punched in the ball from inside the goal box.
Play evened out over the next 20 minutes. Justin Grubisha, who got off two shots during that period, sent a rocket from 15 yards out towards the right side of the goal, but Schuerman stifled the play to tally a save.
Lopez entered the game at the 81:22 mark and scored just two and a half minutes later when White sent him the ball right in front of the open goal. Lopez turned and fired the ball point blank into the back of the net to seal the deal for the Huskies and give them the 3-0 win.
The Panthers' (3-9-1, 2-5-0) return home to face Notre Dame Saturday, Oct. 22. The game will take place at Founders Field at 1 p.m.
