Sophomore Justin Clickett Led Panthers in Field Events

At the quad-meet Friday evening, the men?s team finished third, totaling 100 points. Senior captain, Jeryl Wilborn (400 meters, 49.41), senior, Andy Zang (800 meters, 1:58.18), junior, Chris Anderson (60 meters, 6.96), and freshman, Mike Wray, all led the Panthers with victories on the track. Sophomore, Justin Clickett, threw 17.72 meters to capture the shot-put event.
The women?s team combined for 141 points to finish with second-place honors. Senior, Amanda Walker, was a double winner in weight throw (18.21 meters) and shot-put (15.66 meters). Junior, Marissa Dudek, captured first in pole-vault with a 3.81 meter throw. Also in field events, junior, Lamoy Stephens, jumped 5.87 meters for a victory in long jump. On the track, freshman, Shantea Calhoun (60 meters, 7.66), sophomore, Julianna Reed (60 meter hurdles, 8.69) and senior captain, Kim Lyles (200 meters, 24.8), captured first-place finishes for the Panthers.
On the track Saturday, the men?s team was led by freshman, Sam Bair, in the 800 meter dash, finishing with a time of 1:53.13. Wilborn captured the second place slot with a time of 1:53.73. Clickett threw 17.57 meters to take top honors in the shot-put.
The women?s team was led by freshman twins, Shanea and Shantea Calhoun. Shanea won the 60 meter sprints with a time of 7.67. Shantea placed first in the 200 meters with a time of 24.66.
