Men's Basketball Enters NCAA Tournament as No. 3 Seed in Milwaukee

PITTSBURGH--2004 Big East regular season champion Pittsburgh will enter the NCAA Tournament First Round as the No. 3 seed in Milwaukee, Wisc. The Panthers will play No. 14 seed and Atlantic Sun Tournament champion Central Florida (25-5) Friday in the Bradley Center at approximately 9:50 p.m. ET. All games are televised on CBS.
The Pittsburgh-Central Florida winner will advance to play the winner of No. 6 seeded Wisconsin (24-6) and No. 11 seed Richmond (20-12). That contest is scheduled for Sunday at either 2:15 p.m. ET or 4:45 p.m. ET.
Sunday's winner advances to the East Rutherford Regional and NCAA "Sweet Sixteen" competition. Those games are scheduled for March 25 and 27.
Pittsburgh will enter the NCAA Tournament after making two consecutive NCAA "Sweet Sixteen appearances (2002 and 2003). Pittsburgh has won four of its last six NCAA Tournament games and has earned either a No. 2 or No. 3 seed in four different years. It is making its 16th all-time NCAA Tournament appearance.
