Chevon Troutman Named Big East Co-Player of the Week

PITTSBURGH?University of Pittsburgh senior forward Chevon Troutman was named the Big East Conference Men?s Basketball Co-Player of the Week Monday by the league office. Troutman shared the honor with Syracuse forward Hakim Warrick.
On the week, Troutman averaged 18.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per game while shooting 68.2 percent (15-22) from the floor. He also registered back-to-back double-doubles against both St. Francis (Pa.) and Duquesne. Troutman led Pittsburgh with 22 points and 13 rebounds in a 65-41 victory over St. Francis (Pa.) then posted 15 points and 11 rebounds in an 87-57 win against Duquesne.
The Williamsport, Pa. native leads Pittsburgh in several categories including scoring (16.4 ppg.), rebounding (9.2 rpg), field goal percentage (.667, 32-48), and blocked shots (12). He is also converting 77.3 percent (17-22) of his free throws.
Troutman becomes Pittsburgh?s first student-athlete to earn Big East Weekly honors.
Pittsburgh travels to New York City to play in the Jimmy V. Classic vs. Memphis on Tuesday, Dec. 7. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. for the ESPN national broadcast.
