Coach Harris Reflects on Friday's Practices

Walt Harris Quotes
On wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald:
?Yes, that was a phenomenal catch he had (in Friday?s first practice). How many guys in
On tight ends Erik Gill and Kris Wilson:
?They need to practice. They are both starting to feel better, so they both just need the practice. They have a few more things that they need to do for their positions, which makes it necessary for them to practice.?
On running back Brandon Miree:
?He gives us what we?re asking for on the practice field. If we have a real good player that does that, we?ll be smart about it. What?s happened is that we really have never had a player like this. The bottom line is that when you have a guy like
On wide receiver Terrell Allen:
?Both of his hamstrings are hurting.?
On the wide receivers:
?No, I think it?s still up in the air. I think both of those guys (Princell Brockenbrough and Chris Curd) are doing some things, but we need to get one that will get it done down after down and exactly what the quarterback expects him to do and to know the scheme as well. Obviously we have Larry Fitzgerald and we?re looking for a guy behind him. Terrell Allen is more of a rookie in that group. Allen and Joe Stephens are both in the running.?
On the starting line-up:
?I don?t think anyone is set yet. That?s why we?re going to scrimmage. We?re leaning towards certain guys. What?s happening is they are the ones making the decisions, we?re just watching the tapes of the players. We?re watching the ones who execute and the ones who do are the front runners. It?s not over until we?re ready for the game. If a guy doesn?t perform well during a game week, we?ll put someone else in there. I think Jon Schall has established himself, Malcolm Postell has established himself and Thomas Smith as well.?
On Sunday?s scrimmage:
?This is the first year we?ve had three scrimmages. This has been a much different training camp than previous years, not just because of the new rules, but because we?ve always had an opening game. We?ve never had this kind of situation. It?s hard to say because we?ve never had this many scrimmages. The way the rules are because of when school starts it gives us 29 practices. So we?re not really in training camp the week before the first game and we?ve never had that before. The advantage is that our players can get to classes and get settled down with school before we?re in game week. This disadvantage is that we don?t have a game to play.?
