Elizabeth Bayne Named Mondo District Track Athlete of the Year

PITTSBURGH
Bayne (Hampton, Va./Kecoughtan) won her first Big East outdoor championship this year as she captured the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.57 seconds. She also placed first in the 400-meter hurdles at the ECAC Outdoor Championships with a time of 57.95 and was a member of the first-place 4x400-meter relay team.
In his first season as head coach for Pittsburgh, Webb has guided the women?s track and field team to the ECAC Outdoor championship in overwhelming fashion, outscoring second-place Georgetown by 46 points. He coached the women?s squad to a third-place finish in the Big East Outdoor Championships as the team had four individual champions, the most for Pittsburgh since 1998. Additionally at the conference meet, Tamara McGill was named Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Year.
The Panthers are in action this weekend at the NCAA Regional Championships in Fairfax, Va. On June 10, they travel to the NCAA Championships in Sacramento, Calif.
