Gymnastics Team Qualifies for NCAA Northeast Regional

PITTSBURGH ? The Pittsburgh gymnastics team qualified for the NCAA Northeast Regional meet for the second consecutive year. This season's Northeast Regional will be in Ann Arbor, Mich., on April 12.
The Panthers are ranked fourth in the Northeast Region and 41st in the nation with a Regional Qualifying Score of 194.470. Joining Pittsburgh at the Northeast Regional will be host Michigan (10th, 196.895 RQS), Arizona State (3rd, 197.490), Iowa State (15th, 196.460), East Atlantic Gymnastics League champion New Hampshire (28th, 195.635), and Penn State (30th, 195.550).
Five of the EAGL's eight teams qualified for the NCAA Regionals. In addition to the Panthers and Wildcats in the Northeast, Maryland, North Carolina and North Carolina State qualified for the Southeast Regional in Athens, Ga.
Below is a list of the 36 teams that qualified for the regionals and their current national rankings. The top two teams and the top two all-around competitors (who are not on an advancing team) from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships in Lincoln, Neb., from April 24-26.
