Women's Swimming and Diving Wins Second Straight Dual Meet

Freshman diver Colleen Kristobak (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) got things started with a win on the 3-meter board for the Panthers. Her 279.08 points were over 50 better than the second-place finisher. Kristobak later added a victory in the 1-meter competition with 243.53 points.
The Panthers? 400 medley relay team of Kelly Redcay (Reading, Pa./Wilson), Ryan Redman (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills), Kelli Tielking (Damascus, Md./Damascus), and Courtney Budd (State College, Pa./State College) won the first women?s swimming event with a first-place time of 3:56.13, 5.6 seconds faster than Pittsburgh?s second-place finish.
Freshman Nicole Ebert (Spring, Texas/Klein) won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:28.20, as the Panthers had the top four finishers in that event for 16 points. Junior Carolyne Savini (Egg Harbour Twp., N.J./Holy Spirit) earned her first victory of the meet in the 200 freestyle, touching the wall in 1:52.97, more than two seconds faster than teammate Emily Colley (Pace, Fla./Pace). The Panthers earned another 16 points in the 50 freestyle, nine coming from Redman, who won for the first time in that event with a time of 24.92 seconds, just two-hundredths of a second faster than Redcay.
Savini won her next event, the 200 individual medley, by topping teammate Jennifer Koch (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mother of Mercy) by two seconds with a finishing time of 2:06.32 to Koch?s 2:08.32. The Panthers also got a third-place finish from Kelli Krallman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) for another 16 points in the meet. Koch was able to earn a first-place finish of her own in the 200 butterfly, touching the wall in 2:07.00 ahead of three of her teammates for another 16 points in the event.
Jenny Livingstone (Endwell, N.Y./Union-Endicott), who finished third in the 50 freestyle, took first in the 100 free with a time of 53.31, 0.68 seconds faster than Redcay. Savini won her third event in the 200 backstroke just minutes later with a time of 2:05.26, followed by two of her teammates for another 1-2-3 finish for the Panthers. Colley topped Ebert in the 500 freestyle with a strong time of 5:00.97, which was over 12 seconds faster than Ebert touched the wall.
Redman picked up another nine points for the Panthers in the 200 breaststroke by narrowly edging Cynthia Snyder (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) to the wall with a time of 2:24.12. Snyder finished 1.19 seconds behind with a time of 2:25.31. In the final women?s event, the 400 freestyle relay team of Kate Butrie (Orefield, Pa./Parkland), Colley, Tielking, and Kristin Criner (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Radnor) touched the wall first in 3:38.59, 1.59 seconds faster than West Virginia?s top team.
The Panthers will travel to No. 15 Maryland on Fri., Jan. 17, and will be at Villanova the following day before returning home for the final four dual meets of the season.
