Panther Gymnastics Falls to Michigan State, 195.275-192.150

PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh gymnastics team fell to Big Ten power Michigan State, 195.275-192.150, in Trees Gym on March 5. With the loss, the Panthers drop to 2-7 on the year.
Junior Rebecca Singleton (Poland, Ohio/Boardman) tied for top honors on balance beam, finishing with a meet-best 9.850 along with the Spartans' Julie Devaty and Christy Linder.
Sophomore Jennifer Easter (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) finished in second place on floor exercise with a score of 9.825, while sophomore Nathalie Sulpher (Ottawa, Canada/Franco-Quest) garnered a third-place finish with a 9.800.
Claiming second place with a mark of 9.800, junior Raya Mullin (Runnemede, N.J./Triton) led the Panthers on the uneven bars. Colleen Crisi (Woodhaven, Mich./Carlson) tied for third, finishing with a score of 9.775.
Sulpher was the top Panther on vault with a mark of 9.700, which tied for fifth overall.
The Panthers are back in action on Friday, March 9, as they travel to Lexington, Ky., for a quad-meet with Kentucky, Bowling Green and Central Michigan. The start of the meet is slated for 7 p.m.
