PITTSBURGH - The Panther men's soccer team traveled to Big East Conference foe Syracuse on Oct. 23, and was shut out by the Orangemen, 2-0.
Pittsburgh held Syracuse scoreless for close to 85 minutes before Orangemen Darren Ingels scored the eventual game-winner off an assist by Gabriel Gervais at the 84:42 mark. Syracuse's Jason Baroni added a last second goal after sending a shot rebound past Panther keeper Justin Gaul (North Huntingdon, Pa./William Tennent) with just 32 seconds remaining in the game.
Gaul made eight saves on 15 shots. Pittsburgh was held to just four shots on the afternoon.
Pittsburgh travels to Cleveland State on Wednesday, Oct. 27, before returning home to host Boston College on Sunday, Oct. 31. Game time is 1 p.m. at Pitt Stadium.
