No. 22 Pitt returns to Acrisure Stadium on Saturday to host No. 9 Notre Dame in the 74th meeting between the two programs. It will be the first time the Irish have played in Pittsburgh since 2020 and marks the first Top-25 matchup hosted by the Panthers in the College Football Playoff era. ESPN’s College GameDay and ACC Network’s ACC Huddle will broadcast from the North Shore, setting the stage for a game with major playoff implications.
The Panthers enter the game on a five-game winning streak and are coming off a bye week following a 35–20 victory at Stanford. True freshman quarterback Mason Heintschel has led Pitt’s offense with 1,547 passing yards and 12 touchdowns through his first six appearances, while the defense has produced consistent pressure and takeaways. The unit held Stanford to minus-10 rushing yards in Week 10, recording five sacks and three interceptions. Linebacker Kyle Louis has been central to that effort, posting 11 tackles and an interception in the win.
Notre Dame arrives having won seven straight and continues to balance an efficient offense with a veteran defensive group. Most recent meetings between the programs have been close, with 10 of the past 14 decided by single digits. Pitt last defeated the Irish in 2013 on the North Shore. Saturday’s matchup will also feature the halftime retirement of Aaron Donald’s No. 97, recognizing the former Panther as one of the most accomplished players in program history. Kickoff is set for noon on ABC.
TRAFFIC ADVISORY
Westbound I-376 (Inbound) will be reduced to a single-lane of traffic from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday between the Monroeville/Plum (Exit 84 A/B) and Penn Hills (Exit 81) interchanges at the crossover section at the newly replaced bridge over Old William Penn Highway.

Pitt and Notre Dame square off in a sold-out, ranked matchup Saturday at Acrisure Stadium. The North Shore will be buzzing all morning with live broadcasts from College GameDay and ACC Huddle leading into the noon kickoff on ABC.
