PITTSBURGH--Following a season where two Panthers earned All-Big East distinction, University of Pittsburgh head volleyball coach Chris Beerman announced the 2007 team award winners.

Leading the Panthers was senior Diana Andreyko (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) who garnered the Hope and Walt Bielich Most Valuable Player honor. In her final year, Andreyko set the school record for kills (1,852) and became just the second player in program history to record over 1,500 kills and 1,000 digs in a career, as she finished with 1,089 digs.

Also named the recipient of the Leadership Award and Strength and Conditioning Award, she was a preseason unanimous All-Big East pick and was deemed conference Player of the Week on Sept. 10 and the Pitt News Female Athlete of the Week on Sept. 12. At the conclusion of the season she tallied her fourth postseason All-Big East nod and third as a first team member.

Sophomore Meagan Dooley (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) earned the team's Academic Award, as she maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA during the season. Earlier this season she was also an ESPN the Magazine All-District honoree. On the court she led the team in blocks (132) on the season and is fourth all-time in solo blocks (67) in her two-year career. During the Marquette match this season, she tallied a career high 23 kills.

Pitt graduated just two seniors this past season and look forward to 2008 with several experienced players.
