PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team will face two East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) foes this weekend when they host a quad meet against NC State, Temple and Towson at the Fitzgerald Field House.

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team will face two East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) foes this weekend when they host a quad meet against NC State, Temple and Towson at the Fitzgerald Field House.
THE MEET
- The Panthers (1-4, 1-0 EAGL) will face the Wolfpack (5-3, 1-0 EAGL), Owls (7-2, 2-0 ECAC) and Tigers (4-6, 0-3 EAGL) Saturday, Feb. 3. Action is set to begin at 2 p.m. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
- Pitt placed fourth with a 193.125 in its quad meet against Michigan State, Eastern Michigan and Rutgers Saturday, Jan. 27.
- Two Panther gymnasts collected individual titles in the meet. Senior Catie Conrad tied for the top spot on beam with a 9.850 and sophomore Deven Herbine earned a 9.825 to tie for first on vault.
RELEVANT RANKINGS
- The Panthers rank 38th in the nation with an average team score of 194.492 through three meets.
- Pitt ranks 19th on bars with a 48.892, is tied for 34th on floor with a 48.858, ranks 41st on vault with a 48.708 and ranks 50th on beam with a 48.033.
- Individually, freshman Haley Brechwald is tied for 45th in the nation on floor with an average score of 9.850 and ranks 69th in the all-around with a 38.875. Senior Catie Conrad is tied for 54th on beam with a 9.833 and 89th in the all-around with a 38.692.
- Pitt freshman Haley Brechwald has won two EAGL Rookie of the Week honors so far this season.
- Brechwald has collected six individual titles through three meets. Against New Hampshire, she took home the bars, floor and all-around title. Versus Oregon State, she won vault, bars and the all-around title.
- Brechwald is currently averaging scores of 9.850 on floor, 9.783 on bars, 9.767 on vault and 9.475 on beam for an all-around average of 38.875.

- Pitt senior Catie Conrad has become a strong veteran leader in her first year with the Panthers, after spending her last three years at EMU.
- Conrad has collected four individual titles through three meets. She brought home the beam title in Pitt's quad meet at Michigan State, took bars and beam against New Hampshire and won bars in Pitt's season opener against Oregon State.
- Conrad is currently averaging scores of 9.833 on beam, 9.733 on floor, 9.608 on bars and 9.517 on vault for an all-around average of 38.692.
PITT VERSUS NC STATE
- Pitt will face NC State for the 44th time in program history, with the Wolfpack controlling the all-time series with a 35-8 advantage.
- The Wolfpack defeated the Panthers in their last meeting, coming out with a 194.875-194.100 victory March 18, 2017.
- Pitt last defeated NC State, 195.675-194.500, in the EAGL Championship March 21, 2016.
SCOUTING NC STATE
- NC State is 5-3 on the season and 1-0 in EAGL competition. Most recently, the Wolfpack placed fourth in a quad meet against No. 2 LSU, No. 4 UCLA and No. 14 Washington Saturday, Jan. 27.
- As a team, the Wolfpack rank 26th in the nation on floor (48.975), 28th on bars (48.725) and 29th on both vault (48.831) and beam (48.681).
- Senior Chelsea Knight leads the team on beam with a season average of 9.850 (tied for 31st in the nation) and on vault with an average of 9.794 (tied for 94th in the nation). Sophomore Drew Grantham ranks first on floor with an average of 9.831 (tied for 74th in the nation) and freshman Lauren Kent heads the team on bars with an average of 9.794.
PITT VERSUS TEMPLE
- The Panthers will square off against Temple for the 29th time in program history, with Pitt holding the all-time series edge over the Owls, 20-8.
- Temple came out with a 193.950-193.525 victory when the two teams last met Feb. 4, 2017.
- Pitt has won eight of its last nine meetings against the Owls.
SCOUTING TEMPLE
- Temple is 7-2 on the season and 2-0 in ECAC action. Most recently, the Owls placed first in a quad meet against Southeast Missouri State, Cornell and Ithaca Sunday, Jan. 28.
- As a team, the Owls rank 42nd in the nation on floor (48.738), 44th on bars (48.419), 51st on vault (48.381) and are tied for 53rd on beam (47.975).
- Freshman Tori Edwards leads the team on floor with a season average of 9.825 (tied for 78th in the nation). Sophomore Jaylene Everett ranks first on vault with an average of 9.763. Freshman Jordyn Oster heads the team on beam with an average of 9.731 and Daisy Todd leads the team on bars with an average of 9.717.
PITT VERSUS TOWSON
- Pitt will matchup against Towson for the 40th time in program history, with the Tigers owning the all-time series edge against the Panthers, 24-15.
- The Panthers defeated Towson in their last contest, recording a 194.100-193.225 victory in the EAGL Championship March 18, 2017.
- Pitt has won its last four matchups against Towson.
SCOUTING TOWSON
- Towson is 4-6 on the season and 0-3 in EAGL competition. Most recently, the Tigers placed second in a quad meet against North Carolina, Yale and Ursinus Friday, Jan. 26.
- As a team, the Tigers are tied for 25th in the nation on beam (48.744), rank 40th on both floor (48.769) and bars (48.519) while ranking 56th on vault (48.169).
- Senior Tyra McKellar leads the team on bars with a season average of 9.812 (tied for 77th in the nation) while also ranking first on vault and floor with averages of 9.775 on each. Senior Gabriella Yarussi heads the team on beam with an average of 9.800 (tied for 90th in the nation).
